Peyronnin Construction Co., Inc. from Evansville has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, throwing several projects into limbo, including the International Blue Grass Museum in Kentucky, as well as the McLean County Regional Water Treatment Plant, the International Blue Grass Museum, Owensboro Community and Technical College, and a gravity-fed sewer line in Mt. Vernon.
WAVE TV news reported the major contracts were covered by sureties. Project values included:
- Owensboro Community and Technical College – $12-million contract
- International Bluegrass Museum – $9.6-million contract
- McLean County water treatment plant – $8.5-million contract
- Mt. Vernon gravity-fed sewer line – $860,000 contract
The television station reported that Owensboro city attorney Ed Ray said the Great American Insurance Company will be responsible for finding a “new contractor at the contractor price” for the museum project.
None of the published documentation explains why the company ran into problems. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing indicates the business will be completely liquidated.
The court filing data says several key documents are due by Jan. 23 including the verification of the creditor list, the income and expense schedule, the attorney disclosure of compensation, the statement of financial affairs with declaration, and other schedules and information.
The case is being heard in the Indiana South Bankruptcy Court by judge Basil H. Lorch III. Peryonin is represented by R. Stephen LaPlante of Keating & Laplante.
