GEICO plans to spend $16M on Carmel facility expansion

GEICO announced plans to invest more than $16 million to expand its 109,000 sq. ft. facility in Carmel.

The automotive insurer says that the expansion project will nearly double its office in size, adding an additional 104,000 sq.ft.

GEICO plans to add more than 350 positions to its IT department and 1,000 in customer service and claims handling to the facility.

“The support of this thriving community and our growing customer base in Indiana have made this expansion possible,” Lona Montgomery, general manager of the GEICO Indianapolis office, said in a statement. “We are excited to bring on new associates to help us continue to offer excellent service to our customers across the state.”

The insurer hasn’t disclosed any further details about the project.
