Germany-based auto parts supplier ElringKlinger announced that it will build a new facility in Allen County to expand its operations to Indiana.
The auto supplier is looking to construct a 60,000 sq. ft. shell building at 2677 Persistence Drive in Fort Wayne. The investment will create up to 150 new jobs by 2022, it said in a statement.
ElringKlinger designs, manufactures and distributes innovative aluminum and plastic automotive parts.
The new facility will be equipped with manufacturing, logistical, research and development and information technology equipment. It plant produce aluminum shielding systems for acoustic and thermal protection for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
ElringKlinger currently employs more than 9,000 employees in about 50 locations around the world, including associates at its U.S. facilities in Georgia, Michigan and California.
The company did not disclose any construction details.
