The Indiana Department of Transportation (IDOT) recently announced construction work along Interstate 69 for additional travel lanes and surface rehabilitation will start in Madison and Delaware counties this month.

IDOT awarded a contract earlier this year to Walsh Construction/Reith Riley for the addition of a travel lane in each direction from just north of the Pendleton exit to north of exit 226 in Anderson, according to News Sentinel.

The more than $79 million project will include eight miles of new travel lanes and six miles of pavement maintenance. Twenty bridges will also be upgraded to accommodate the third travel lanes in both directions.

Work is scheduled to be completed by November 2019.
