SIMCO of Southern Indiana, a startup company focused on manufacturing reflective bubble insulation products, plans to build a new facility in Crawford County.
SIMCO will construct and equip a 12,000-sq.-ft facility at the Crawford County Industrial Park, located off of Interstate 64, at 6225 E. Industrial Ln. in Leavenworth.
Scheduled to be fully operational by December 2018, SIMCO will make reflective bubble insulation products, which are used in the construction of post-frame, pole and metal buildings.
“We’re excited to announce our new venture will be located in Crawford County Industrial Park. With the start-up of SIMCO manufacturing, we’re planning to bring new employment opportunities to southern Indiana,” stated Kris Wieckowski of SIMCO. “We’re appreciative of the outstanding collaboration and assistance provided by the Crawford County Economic Development committee in making this a reality for us and for the community of Crawford County.”
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered SIMCO as much as $80,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.
The Crawford County Redevelopment Commission approved additional incentives at the request of Crawford County Economic Development.
