EDP to build $300 wind farm in Randolph County


Houston-based alternative energy company EDP Renewables North America is gearing up to build a $300-million wind energy farm in eastern Indiana that will power Facebook’s Midwest data center, reports The Associated Press.

The wind facility in Randolph County will consist of 50 new turbines. Called the Headwaters II, the wind farm will produce enough electricity to power about 52,000 homes annually, according to the AP.

Construction is expected to begin late 2019 with completion anticipated in 2020.
