Westfield City Council has approved an agreement with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) for a $15-million road reconstruction project.

The project is designed address capacity and congestion issues along SR 32 from Shamrock Boulevard to East St. and improve traffic flow through downtown Westfield, Inside Indiana Business reports.

The project cost will be split between the city and INDOT.

Indianapolis-based American Structurepoint has been selected by the city and INDOT to oversee engineering and design.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2022 and to be complete in early 2024.
