There will be some fit-up opportunities airport retail contractors after the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) recently approved five new contracts for specialty retailers.
The new leases are part of the airport’s Concessions Refresh initiative that started in 2016 as leases for 43 shops and vendors expire. The IAA says five new retailers are expected to open in the fourth quarter this year.
IAA executive director Mario Rodriguez said in a press release that the goal is “significantly enhancing a sense of place at the airport and elevating our guests’ shopping experience in the terminal.”
Construction projects will begin on or before the second quarter of 2019, the IAA statement says. The Concessions Refresh initiative will include a phased three-year construction plan ensuring airport passengers and guests have access to the products and services they need while traveling.
