AMERICAN Innovation, a newly created company of AMERICAN Flow Control, will build a new research and development center in Crawfordsville.

AMERICAN Innovation will invest $9 million to construct, equip and furnish its new R&D facility, featuring state-of-the-art equipment and technologies for enhancing existing valve and hydrant products, as well as developing new infrastructure-related products.

The 30,000-sq.-ft. center– called the AMERICAN Flow Control Center for Innovative Excellence – will be constructed on 17 acres in the Crawfordsville Commerce Park. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and to be completed in spring 2020.

“This center will expand our research and design functions, allowing us to fast track innovations to get products to market more quickly,” said John Hagelskamp, AMERICAN Flow Control division sales manager. “We chose Crawfordsville in part because of its easily accessible location and proximity to several major engineering schools.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) says it has  offered AMERICAN Innovation as much as $130,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans.
