Construction of a senior housing project will soon begin in southeast Columbus.
The senior housing project calls for construction of a four-story, 114-unit building on the site of the Bartholomew County Annex Building.
The facility will be built on 2.37-acre vacant lot near State and Mapleton streets, The Republic reports.
The complex will be developed by Vivera Senior Living of Columbus LLC and JLB Columbus GP LLC. Kentucky-based Marian Group created JLB Columbus GP LLC as part of the development which will include 52 efficiency and 62 one-bedroom units.
Following the completion of preliminary site work, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held in early June, followed by an immediate start on construction.
The project will take 16 to 18 months to complete. The 114-unit building is expected to open its doors as early as September 2020.
