Fort Wayne PHCC launches apprenticeship program to address staffing shortage

The Fort Wayne Area Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association is launching an apprenticeship program in a bid to address a staffing shortage.

The association is facing the staffing shortage as people retire from the industry, WPTA21 reports, citing the organization representing the professional plumbing-heating-cooling contractor and affiliated manufacturers and suppliers.

The association will offer a four-year program with hands-on training in both plumbing and HVAC. The Donald Wayne Shumaker Training Center at 2330 Wayne Haven in Fort Wayne will start classes on September 9th and will teach four years of plumbing and the 1st and 2nd year of HVAC.
