There will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the Terre Haute Convention Center today (Friday, Sept. 6) at 11 a.m.
The project, to be completed by 2021, includes the convention center, a parking garage, a new hotel and the Larry Bird museum.
INSide Indiana Business reports that municipal officials say the convention center’s budget is on track. In August, the Vigo County Capital Improvement Board approved a resolution setting its guaranteed maximum price at nearly $25 million.
The ceremony is rain or shine and will be held at 11 a.m., between 7th and 9th streets on Wabash Avenue in Terre Haute.
