Abbott to build $37 million plant in Westfield


Abbott will invest $37 million to build a medical device plant in Westfield.

The 120,000-sq.-ft. facility will be built in the NorthPoint Industrial Park along U.S. 31. The plant will produce transcatheter mitral valve repair system called MitraClip.

The project is expected to create 450 jobs, according to a company statement.

Construction is set to begin later this year and is expected to complete by the end of 2021.
