A busy Indianapolis street will likely be shut down for a large portion of 2020, thanks to a city’s revitalization project.

The Indy Star is reporting that there are big plans in store for a section of East Market St. The city intends to spend more than $6 million to build “a slightly raised pedestrian crossing between City Market and the City-County Building, [conduct] infrastructure upgrades to improve walkability and storm-water management features.”

The paper is reporting that construction could begin as early as November but the main work, which will force the street closure, will last from March to November 2020.
