$11 million+ projects under-way at Gary/Chicago International Airport

Several projects worth more than $11 million overall are under-way at the Gary/Chicago International Airport, BuildingIndiana.com reports.

Included are a $1 million US Customs and Border Patrol Facility, a new East Corporate Hangar ($1.3 million) constructed by Burling Builders, Inc. and a $9.1 million project to improve runway illumination and lights.

For the customs/border patrol project, participants include: Construction managerLEE Companies; architectNGC Aviation Consultants; concrete – Walker Construction; carpentry – Gariup Construction Co.; roofing – Maris and Son, Inc.; HVAC – Gatlin Plumbing & Heating and plumbing – Gatlin Plumbing & Heating.

Meanwhile, Superior Construction Co., Inc. is overseeing the runway restoration, while Midwestern Electric is working on the runway improvements and lights.
