Lindal North America Inc. has started building a $20 million project in Columbus. The company, which manufactures components for aerosol products, is owned by a German parent and currently has three other facilities in Bartholomew County.

Indianapolis-based The Peterson Co. LLC will build it and construction could be complete by the end of the year.

Inside INdiana Business reports that Greater Columbus Economic Development Corp. executive director Jason Hester says the flagship operation is part of intentional efforts aimed at attracting foreign direct investment.

Lindal North America says the 100,000 sq. ft. facility and investment will retain 65 jobs and create 30 more. The company’s current operations are in Columbus and Hope, encompassing 70,000 sq. ft. The new building will be located on 15-acres in the Woodside Industrial Park and include manufacturing, research and development, warehouse and office space.

The Greater Columbus Economic Development Corp. says production in Columbus for Lindal North America first launched in 2008.
