The board of the Fort Wayne Community Schools approved construction contract for a synthetic turf field at Spuller Stadium, reports WANE.
The $948,991-contract winner is Motz Group.
The football field, located at Northrop High School, is home to the Northrop Bruins. The nearly million-dollar project is expected to be completed in early August.
The new synthetic turf will allow the Spuller Stadium to host larger band competitions and sectional and regional events.
According to superintendent Wendy Robinson, the cost of the new turf was already included in the district’s 2019 budget.
